The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD seeks to hire a part-time drama teacher beginning with the 2022/2023 school year. KTS is a private special education school serving students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities and/or high functioning autism. The lower/middle school program includes classes for K-8th grade.

Responsibilities include:

• Implement content area curricula
• Provide necessary accommodations to meet individual, group and program needs
• Implement IEPs
• Create a supportive learning environment
• Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
• Create partnerships with parents and the Katherine Thomas School Community
• Create fun and engaging lessons

Required Experience for the Drama Teacher:

• Bachelor's degree in special education or content area
• Eligible for Maryland Teaching Certification in Special Education (Drama)
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or other health impairments preferred
