About the Role:
A Clinician Social Worker practices social work with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illness, emotional, and other behavioral disturbances. Individual, group and family therapy are common treatment modalities.
Responsibilities:
· Delivering a range social work services to adults with complex social, emotional, psychiatric, and behavioral challenges while demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health challenges, mental health symptomatology and presentation, substance use disorder treatment as well as ancillary socio-medical concerns that shall include the following
a. Serving as team lead and a member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team
b. Assessing clients; participating in the assessment and referral process and making recommendations for treatment
c. Providing comprehensive psychosocial assessment to adults over the age of 21- year-old that are seeking substance use disorder treatment
d. Applying American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria in determining treatment level of care
e. Providing brief counseling to clients during assessment as appropriate
f. Making appropriate social service referrals that support client recovery
g. Coordinating with collateral contacts to ensure accurate clinical assessment information
h. Identifying with collateral contacts to ensure accurate clinical assessment information
i. Providing crisis intervention as needed to adults seeking behavioral health assessments
j. Completing mandatory trainings
k. Obtaining authorizations for in-patient admissions and arrange transportation arrangements through the patient’s insurance provider
l. Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) a plus
m. Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of social work, as evidenced by a master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work
n. Skilled in biopsychosocial assessments and level of care determinations including differential diagnoses
· Having knowledge of intake, diagnostic assessment and behavioral health referral process for mental illness and substance use disorder
· Being skilled in biopsychosocial assessments and level of care determinations including differential diagnoses
Candidate Requirements:
· Three (3) years of professional work experience/training as a Licensed Social Worker
· Must be a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
· Providing contract services for the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CPER)
· Having successfully completed all the requirements for the master’s degree in social Work. from an accredited School of Social
· LGSW licensed social workers can be considered
