Titan Solar Power is currently seeking an experienced and driven Safety Manager to Join our team.
Summary:
The Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Provide leadership and guidance regarding site personnel, which includes but is not limited to, field personnel, office, and fleet. In addition, inspect working conditions in the office and solar construction settings to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Manage departmental documentation and PPE to maintain compliance with company regulatory requirements. Must be willing to travel & remain on site for extended periods. Will report directly to the Safety Director.
Responsibilities:
Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Present, support and lead by example with a safety and quality-orientated attitude.
Conduct site audits, ensuring company safety compliance.
Travel to KS and IL branches, up to 3 times a year
Must be comfortable traveling to Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso frequently
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
Conduct weekly toolbox talks and train local management on toolbox talk presentations.
Be a resource for any OSHA site visit or OSHA investigation that may occur.
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Conduct accident investigations involving personnel and/or vehicles.
Train new hires on safety basics and ensure everyone understands safety expectations.
Provide Fall Protection Training to all field employees in the region.
Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
Maintains records of safety violations and manages regular all-hands meetings to promote safety culture.
Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at-risk” behaviors.
Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
Performs other safety-related duties as assigned by Safety Director.
Licenses
OSHA 30 Construction required
OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction Industry required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
OSHA 3115, Fall Protection highly desirable
OSHA 500 Train the Trainer certification highly desirable
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.
Understanding of federal, state, and city safety requirements, including Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), and workers compensation laws per state we operate business.
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and auditor safety software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and
managers/supervisors.
Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.
Be comfortable working in a high-volume and fast-paced office work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or vehicle and working on a computer.
Climb a ladder to inspect roof safety and equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to do continuous travel in different regions such as IL, KS, MO.
