The Human Resources/ Office Manager is a dual-role involving full spectrum human resources and office management responsibilities. 

This role is responsible for performing HR-related duties in the following HR functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, basic employee relations and discipline, answering benefits questions, and employment law compliance.

The office manager component of this position is responsible for overall front office activities, such as phones, visitors, basic vendor management, coding invoices, office supplies, and general office administration.

Responsibilities

HR/Office Manager Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire and onboard employees
  • Administer human resources policies and procedures, including addressing employee relations issues and discipline as appropriate
  • Assist employees with basic benefits questions and provide benefits information
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, including administering fingerprinting and security officer licensing paperwork
  • Monitor unemployment claims and assist with appeals, with the support of a third-party provider
  • Responsible for the office's day-to-day operations, including answering phones, greeting visitors, maintaining office equipment and office supplies, etc.
  • Responsible for the sizing and distribution of all uniforms
  • Manage vendors as appropriate and code invoices for payment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

HR/Office Manager Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 5 years or more in combined human resource and office management experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of federal and state employment regulations
  • Working knowledge of office processes
  • Accounting experience a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to obtain a valid PERC.

Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Other Qualifications: Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Travel: Ability to travel to the Chicago branch when needed

Physical Demands: Standard office environment.

Salary & Benefits: Base salary to be determined based on experience plus discretionary year-end bonus, paid vacation and personal days, medical insurance, dental insurance, life and AD&D insurance, optional life and AD&D insurance, paid holidays, and 401(k) match.
