Tipton & Hurst, Inc is Hiring a Retail Bridal Department Manager Near Little Rock, AR

Position Summary

Tipton and Hurst is looking for a results driven Retail Bridal Gift Manager to be responsible for the bridal gift and registry department. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, be responsible for facilitating and supervising daily operations at our store to make sure that employees work together effectively to achieve sales and profitability goals and contribute to shop upkeep. Their duties include communicating with vendors about inventory orders, scheduling employee shifts and training new employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist brides and families to create wedding registries and maintain customer relationships.
  • Develop business strategies to raise our customer pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability.
  • Work across all branch locations to grow bridal and tabletop business.
  • Establish strong relationships with china, crystal and tabletop vendors.
  • Maintain an appealing layout and presentation of in-store merchandise.
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase market share, keep abreast of market trends to determine needs for store.
  • Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget.
  • Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation.
  • Inspect the areas in the department and resolve any issues that might arise.
  • Apply the latest technology to ensure ease of online ordering.
  • Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
  • Assist with transferring merchandise between locations.
  • Supervise part-time staff by meeting sales goals, training, motivating, and mentoring.
  • Work closely with marketing to effectively market and brand company bridal and tabletop departments.

Requirements and skills:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a retail manager, ideally in homewares and/or specialty retail.
  • Knowledge of retail management best practices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizing and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 40 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Must be able to climb ladders to reach upper displays.
