Tim Ho Wan, the famous and popular Dim Sum Specialists from Hong Kong, a city also known as the gastronomic city, is owned and created by Chef Mak Kwai Pui who was once a chef at Lung King Heen, three-star Michelin award winner, of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, along with his partner Chef Leung Fai Keung. In 2009, Chef Mak and Chef Leung opened their first Tim Ho Wan restaurant in Mong Kok, a prosperous city in Kowloon, Hong Kong, to offer “authentic taste” at a reasonable price. Tim Ho Wan’s delicious dim sum and affordable price caught many locals’ hearts and the stores were filled with people in endless queues. In 2010, it won a Michelin star and became popular as the “world’s most inexpensive Michelin-starred restaurant.” Since then, the brand has spread throughout Asian countries, and now it comes to the U.S.A. The Time Ho Wan in New York City was launched in East Village in 2016, becoming well-known for the long waiting line before opening every morning. We are continuing to be eager to launch the second location, which opened in Hell’s Kitchen in 2018. Now we are seeking an assistant manager who can help us and build strong teams together

¨ High school diploma, GED, or Compulsory Education Course Completion (Country of Origin)

¨ Experience in Chinese Dim Sum restaurants is desired, and Chinese cuisine varieties of culinary knowledge and skills are a plus

¨ Complete knowledge of the composition of Chinese Dim Sum cuisine

¨ Experience in Chinese cuisine varieties of culinary knowledge and skills are a plus

¨ Training/certification in proper sanitation procedures for the restaurant industry

¨ High level of skills in knife handling and technique

¨ Working knowledge of weighs, measures, various cooking techniques, and recipe development

¨ Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business vendors, restaurant employees, and other management members

¨ Experience in inventory management and understand the profit and loss reports

¨ In compliance with any local laws and ordinances as required

¨ Preferer able to communicate in English and Chinese

¨ Must maintain and follow all standards and recipes of Tim Ho Wan brand and WDI NY LLC

¨ Ensures appropriate manpower plan and maintains adequate staffing and productive scheduling levels

¨ Assists the Chef and KM in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified employees for the kitchen area

¨ Orientates and trains new employees

¨ Assists the Chef and KM to evaluate performance and administer wage plans

¨ Ensures effective employee relations

¨ Assists the Chef and KM with the scheduling of kitchen employees including Porters/Dishwashing personnel

¨ Assists the Chef and KM to control kitchen labor to meet or exceed standards

¨ Ensures the development of kitchen employees

¨ Maintain solid knowledge of all food products and can apply culinary techniques skillfully

¨ Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards

¨ Maintains proper sanitation levels and storage procedures as specified by Health Department and company standards

¨ Inspects food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas to ensure that health and safety regulations and rules are adhered to at all times and resolve any issues

¨ Completes/Supervises opening duties such as setting up the station with required tools, equipment, and supplies; inspecting cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment, and supplies; checking production schedule and pars; establishing priority items for the day when the Chef and KM is off duty and becomes an acting Chef and KM. Prepare any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the operational tasks

¨ Completes/Supervises clean and safe closing procedures of the store all the time with the Chef

¨ Works with the General Manager, Chef, and Assistant Chef, and maintains proper daily and periodical cleaning procedures in all areas of the store at the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

¨ supervises inventory and estimates usage with the Chef and KM reports any issues to the Chef and shares the information with the KM

¨ Executes the general responsibilities necessary to minimize operating costs and expenses

¨ Assumes full duties and responsibility of all kitchen areas when the Chef is off duty and becomes an acting Che Responsible for specific situ

· Able to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
