Thrive Hair Bar is Hiring a Salon Receptionist Near Washington, DC

Company Description

Thrive Hair Bar is an luxury, natural hair salon located on H Street NE in Washington, DC. We provide natural hair styling services, consultations, sell retail products, and produces local events to entertain and progress the community. Thrive Hair Bar's mission is to normalize kinky, coily, and curly hair in all settings, including professional, personal, and luxurious. We are looking for a receptionist who embodies that mission!

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role as a Receptionist at Thrive Hair Bar. The Receptionist will be responsible for answering phone calls, greeting customers, scheduling appointments, retail sales, laundry, light cleaning, and handling clerical duties such as record-keeping, research, and data entry.

Schedule is part-time with the opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance

Currently 5:45pm-8:45pm weekday evenings and 9:45-6:45pm Sundays is available

Qualifications

  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Receptionist duties such as greeting customers and scheduling appointments
  • Excellent computer skills (typing, researching using web search engines, data entry, adopting new technology)
  • Customer service skills to provide a welcoming and positive experience for clients
  • Prior experience in a salon or customer-facing role is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Answering and managing all phone, email, and social media inquiries during salon business hours
  • Retail sales and checkout
  • Hitting target retail sales goals
  • Scheduling appointments over the phone
  • Attending and actively participating in all team meetings
  • Helping stylists clean and disinfect between clients,
  • Dusting, Sweeping, Mopping, Laundry
  • Making & Serving Coffee, Tea, Water, and Smoothies
  • Creating Social Media Posts and Email Marketing Content
  • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, offering water and tea
