Threshold Brands is Hiring a General Manager, Plant Manufacturing Near Cleveland, OH

Position Responsibilities:

As General Manager, your work will directly impact the growth and success of USA Insulation’s manufacturing facility. You will have overall responsibilities for safety, production, quality, logistics, maintenance, and financials. The General Manager will collaborate with departmental managers, the Brand President, and members of the executive team to work within budget and developed business plans while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company. Additionally, you will have responsibility for overseeing truck upfitting, including monitoring our build inventory, parts and equipment needs. You will be effective in your communication with our internal and external business partners and work effectively with current and new franchise owners to support their business. You will possess proven leadership skills, as well as a strong ability to solve problems and make sound decisions that encourage growth.

 Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership over the production of our proprietary liquid components, cost control management, brand protection and support, safety and compliance, inventory and logistics and franchise support.
  • Work with our Production team to increase production and assets capacity while maintaining current quality standards.
  • Responsible for meeting corporate expectations and goals in terms of meeting the plant’s profit targets, expenditures, cost containment, manufacturing/plant engineering improvements, environmental/health/safety goals, and quality enhancements, while maintaining operational cost effectiveness.
  • Work in collaboration with the Quality Control Product Manager to oversee samples, tests, and recording.
  • Oversee activities to comply with plant safety and environmental policies, to meet Quality Control requirements and to meet business demand.
  • Assures prompt, accurate and complete reporting on all major aspects of plant operations to the Brand President and Executive team.
  • Assist with preparations for day shift maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for overall facility, general plant machinery, and property maintenance between 2 locations, ensuring our properties consistently meet standards.
  • Conduct area housekeeping to meet plant standards. Safeguard the area of responsibility and improve housekeeping practices.
  • Host and be responsible for cross functional events, such as new franchisee discovery days, technical training, product education along with welcoming new brands and guests to the facility.
  • Evaluate safety, environmental and quality policies and suggest modifications as necessary.
  • Follow plant EHS, EPA, OSHA policies as well as DOT regulations.
  • Provide suggestions for area operational improvement.
  • Participate in safety, health and environmental programs.

Core Competencies:

  • Decision making, analytical problem solving, forecasting, budgeting, negotiating, communicating, and evaluating are skills used daily on the job as well as the supervision and development of managers.
  • Accountable for understanding all requirements of each job reporting to this position, ensuring each person is performing all requirements of the job and providing adequate training and development as necessary.
  • Knowledge of plant operations and handling hazardous raw material is required along with Air Quality Regulation and/or EPCRA Compliance experience.

Required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in plant operations/ leading a manufacturing facility required.
  • Good working familiarity handling hazardous materials.
  • Good understanding of plant procedures relating to OSHA, EHS, EPA and other regulations that require compliance for plant operations.
  • Training in Emergency Response, First Aid, Hazardous Waste handling and OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involving strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of plant organization.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent computer and analysis skills.

The General Manager reports to the Brand President providing service across multiple states and communities, and thus may require some travel.
