**Description**

The **Unit Host- Patient Food Server** is directly responsible for the patient dining experience by taking a patients order at their bedside, guiding the patient in selecting their meal from a restaurant-style menu, and personalizing the delivery of meals to guests throughout the hospital. The primary focus is to form relationships with patients and care providers in order to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction. Professional image both in appearance and attitude in every guest interaction is the standard. The Unit Host has solid knowledge of all diets and exhibits a strong sense of urgency to ensure the timely, expedient and accurate delivery of meals to our patients. **$17.50- $20/hour** **Hours range from 6:50am to 7pm; working a 10 hours shift up to 4 days a week** **This is a per-diem position- no set schedule or guarantee of hours.** Our Food & Nutrition Services Department is now hiring outgoing, hard-working individuals that are flexible and work well in a fast-paced team environment.

**Job duties include:**

* Assembling and delivering patient trays in an acute care hospital. Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting, walking, pushing, and/or pulling carts.

* Distribute appropriate menus for patients to select from. Assist patient with menu selections as needed.

* Process all diet orders received from nursing services in preparation for production, including entry of charges. May coordinate all food production information for culinary staff.

* Approve patient food requests based on diet order and food availability. Determine needs of between-meal nourishment and orders as needed.

* Use approved computer charting methods to communicate individual patient needs related to food and to ensure meal tray accuracy and prompt delivery.

**Qualifications:**

* The ability to communicate with all levels of customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.

* Skills using tablet computers and wireless technology.

* Advanced education with an emphasis on nutrition preferred

* 2 years of related health care patient services experience preferred

* Washington State Food Handlers Card is required

* Ability to multi-task

* Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

* Ability to work well with others

* Strong customer service skills

* Proficient computer and tablet skills preferred

* Proficient in mathematics
