THERMAL SPECIALTIES is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Fort Worth, TX

Thermal Specialties is looking for a Quality Technician for our Heat Treat Facility in Fort Worth. The purpose of this position is to assist with measurements, calibrations and required metallurgical testing. The overall goal of this role is to improve production quality, increase efficiency and maintain a clean and a safe work environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must have good time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and be analytical
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must be able to work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined space
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Reading aptitude – must have the ability to interpret customer requirements and communicate information.
  • Ability to evaluate information from digital inspection media.
  • Communication skill both verbal and written.
  • Microsoft Office skills – (PowerPoint; Excel; & Word).
  • Must work well within extreme temperatures and physically demanding environment. Must have good time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and teamwork skill.
  • Basic Chemistry knowledge.
  • Basic Mechanical aptitude.
  • Practical Problem Solving Skills (experience with root cause corrective action).
  • Ability to interpret two dimensional drawings.
  • Experience with Inspection Media (e.g. Rockwell; Brinell; Calipers; Micrometers; etc).
  • Industry related experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with ISO 9000 and or AS 9100.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in extreme high/low temperatures and a physically demanding environment
  • Frequently required to stand for long periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
