WORKING HOURS: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, additional hours as needed for projects

WORK LOCATION: 4630 Distribution Parkway, Buford, GA 30519

POSITION PURPOSE: 

Thermacell is seeking an experienced and intrinsically motivated Production Planner & Buyer to support its operations in Buford, GA. The primary responsibilities of this role will be planning weekly production and ensuring material / product availability to support the production schedule. Other supporting responsibilities will include managing inventory levels, supporting material / product level revisions, interacting & coordinating with suppliers, and supporting other business functions as required. This position will report directly to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Create the weekly production schedule in a way that optimizes TRI’s ability to service its customers while running an efficient operation.
  • Provide forecasted outlook of in-house production needs to help with labor planning.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule. 
  • Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems. 
  • Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes.
  • Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times.
  • Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
  • Manage the inter-company flow or materials/products between warehouse locations.
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
  • Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
  • Support the Thermacell S&OP process.
  • Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks).
  • Processing MRP output, processing Planned Orders in a timely manner to support demand.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.
  • Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Initiating and following through on any supplier date changes and working through appropriate channels to resolve issues and get materials and products delivered on time.
  • Communicate supplier performance, particularly On Time Delivery and Quality, including supplier visits as required.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position will include a competitive base salary and an annual incentive bonus program-details proved separately. Benefits for this position will consist of vacation benefits at a competitive level & 10 paid company holidays. Additionally, a company shut-down period is offered for one week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

You may start contributing to our 401k after completing 30 days of service (enrolling on the first of the following month). You will be eligible for the employer match up to 4% (base salary overtime wages - subject to the IRS legal limit) after completing one year of service.

Requirements

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or other relevant field (will also consider equivalent experience).
  • At least 4 years of experience in a buyer, planner, or material scheduler role working for a direct manufacturer (required).
  • Proficient with MS Office suite – advanced skills with MS Excel.
  • NetSuite and or Oracle cloud experience (preferred).
  • APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification (preferred).
  • Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills.
  • Able to influence others & manage conflict in a sensible, fair and efficient manner.
  • Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations.
  • Extremely high standards of excellence.
  • Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience establishing and employing demand-pull/push material planning methods in a manufacturing environment.
