The Transportation Manager will route Residential and Non-Residential orders to maximize optimization, cost savings, lead time and perfect delivery. Use Lean culture and practices to drive efficiencies in transportation / logistics. Grow in understanding Logistics cost and performance drivers to develop projects and proposals for stainable improvements.
* Collects all shippable orders and create a shipping plan for each business unit using routing guides in place for optimization on a daily basis including shipment consolidation and coordination of shipments.
* Setup tracking tracing for plants.
* Work to resolve missing shipments and establish claims process with carriers.
* Maintains accurate and up to date information on least cost carrier options.
* Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis and/or problem analysis, while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
* Creating and analyzing reports to support business execution.
* Develops metrics and key performance indicators for assigned business units.
* Develops business tools and solutions based on knowledge, product, or technology and identifies Logistics process improvement.
* Supports vendor/business partner relationships.
* Serves as a liaison between sales, operations, carriers, and customers
**Requirements**
* BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or Logistics.
* 3 years of experience in transportation industry
* Strong technical and analytical skills, with ability to approach problems systematically.
* Strong knowledge of LTL and TL process.
* Experience in using an ERP system and/or TMS system
