Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented, self-driven, and motivated Transportation Planner to be based in the Columbus, Ohio area.

This position is expected to begin in April 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs, and regulations.

  • Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations.

  • Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data, and occupancy rates.

  • Assists in evaluating re-zonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances, and other proposals.

  • Coordinates community review of public and private development projects.

  • Provides information to the public regarding development regulations.

  • Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues.

  • Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Geography, Science, Public Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems, including ArcMap and ArcGIS Online, Google Earth, and/or other geographic software.

  • Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills.

  • Coursework and/or project experience in transit service planning, finance, transportation planning, data analysis, and preparing graphics and visuals.

  • Demonstrate technical writing, verbal, and graphical skills.

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.

  • Offered rate of compensation (Ohio locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $23 - $32/hr.
