About the Role & Team
The Corporate Safety and Environmental Affairs Department provides day-to-day assistance to business units to ensure accurate implementation of the Company’s Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (Safety Programs) and Environmental Compliance Program. We ensure that our programs and the Company remains in compliance with various Federal, State and local safety and environmental regulations. These programs also minimize loss prevention from non-compliance as well as accident and injury prevention. Program components include inspections and audits, technical assistance and mentorship, and training.
What Will You Do?
Manager, Corporate Safety leads the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of elements contained in the Company Injury and Illness Prevention Program and applies them to business units as appropriate. This includes:
We develop, implement, manage, and maintain health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with the regulatory requirements and industry standard process
Identify and address new safety initiatives based on business unit/company needs
Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for their mitigation.
We provide technical mentorship and support to management and employees on health and safety matters including but not limited to accident investigation and root cause analysis, industrial hygiene investigations and air quality monitoring, assisting with employee accommodations requests and development and facilitation of training and education.
Connect and communicate with all levels of management
Assist Sr. Manager with developing new programs as regulatory needs emerge
Required Qualifications & Skills
College degree or four years equivalent work experience in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene
5 or more years of confirmed occupational safety and health experience.
Prior interaction with regulatory agencies
Confirmed understanding of OSHA general industry and construction safety regulations
Knowledge of NFPA standards and of New York City local laws
Understanding of industrial hygiene principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, or a closely related field.
Professional certification in Environmental Health and Safety field preferred
Proven understanding of applicable health and safety regulations and standards.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $126,000 - $157,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Full Time
