The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Assessment on the Dahlonega campus. This position supports the Institutional Effectiveness Office by maintaining and improving university-wide assessment in administrative, academic support, and student support units as required by SACSCOC. Support the development, assessment, implementation, measurement, and reporting of the UNG QEP.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support department heads, departmental assessment coordinators and other faculty on developing assessment plans for both new and existing programs. Create student learning outcomes, design measures and rubrics to assess student proficiency of those outcomes, analyze the data, create data reports for programs, and work with program faculty to identify data-driven opportunities and changes that improve the program and student learning. Utilize an assessment software platform to house and report assessment information. Prepare and present workshops, as needed, for faculty.
  • Support accreditation efforts by guiding development, assessment, implementation, measurement, and reporting of the UNG QEP.
  • Support best assessment practices during the design and implementation of institutional and system level programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and administer standardized assessment instruments. Analyze and report results.
  • Serve on and provides support to University committees.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of a variety of methods of academic assessment and program evaluation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and foster relationships with faculty and staff
  • Effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to consult with and advise faculty on assessment methods/models
  • Ability to analyze and interpret assessment results as well as guide programs on use of data for program improvement
  • Ability to work independently and with initiative
  • Ability to lead assessment workshops
  • Ability to utilize assessment software to manage data and create reports

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • At least three years experience in academic assessment, higher education, statistics, research, or social science.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree preferred.

Proposed Salary

Minimum Starting Salary: $73,155
