The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator, University Events on the Dahlonega campus. This position will join a knowledgeable, well-trained, and customer service-oriented team for University Events. The position is housed within the Office of University Events and will be under the supervision of the Associate Director of University Events.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing the processes, planning, and execution of university events and special events.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, signage, reports, and planning materials for events.
- Communicate event information to faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends.
- Recruit and train additional staff volunteers if needed for large-scale events.
- Train and support supervision of student staff in the Presidential Ambassador Program.
- Work in conjunction with the Associate Director to continuously assess the needs and advancements of the events produced.
- Assist in coordinating the development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive Presidential Ambassador Program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Interest in event logistics, protocol, and delivering high levels of customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all ages as well as high level constituents.
- Able to work with discretion and protect sensitive information, knowledge of the university environment.
- Able to work some nights and weekends as well as lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree.
- At least 2 years of experience assisting with large-scale events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic event experience preferred.
Proposed Salary
Minimum Starting Salary: $21.20 per hour
