The University of Alabama is Hiring an Assistant Manager Electrical Maintenance Near Tuscaloosa, AL

Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $62,300 - Midpoint: $81,000 (Salaried E10)

Department/Organization: 504131 - Electrical Maintenance

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm; with additional hours worked as needed

Job Summary: The Assistant Manager of Electrical Maintenance manages the scheduling and assigning work for apprentices and Electricians. Schedules and delivers training. Provides technical expertise to the Electrical Maintenance Department employees. Assists in the managing, planning, scheduling, and overseeing of all activities associated with the daily requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Department as required to accomplish assigned responsibilities, projects, and goals and to provide superior maintenance operations to the University.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of electrical work experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of electrical work experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of electrical work experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of electrical work experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job. Must have the ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans and do material takeoffs. Must have good people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and with a diverse population. Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal. Must have good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Must be able to accomplish all assigned work tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely matter. Must meet regular attendance requirements. Must have the ability to perform all tasks listed in the Job Duties section.

Preferred Qualifications: Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
