The Tiger Hotel is Hiring a Night Auditor Near Columbia, MO

Brief Job Summary:

The Night Auditor is responsible for being the face of the hotel during the overnight shift for late arrival guests. Additionally, the Night Auditor checks guests in, and out, as well as creating new reservations, and updating existing reservations. When guests are not awaiting service, the Night Auditor is responsible for completing a night audit report which includes but is not limited to, processing payments, reconciling accounts, verifying guest folios, and collecting deposits for event weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Guest experience: Welcome each guest as they come and go throughout their stay. Ensure to build personal connections with the guests, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Concierge services: Each team member acts as a concierge, providing recommendations that peaks our clienteles’ interests. Professionally guide each guest to the nearby gas stations, atms, coffee shops, etc. Additionally, the Night Auditor is responsible for answering any inquiries pertaining to the hotel, or any of our outlets or services.
  • Phone etiquette: Answer the front desk phone within the second ring, and place calls on hold, park, or transfer to the appropriate office extension. Additionally, the Night Auditor must possess clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to identify the guest’s needs and properly provide those needs.
  • Arrival and Departure services: Provide guests with an efficient check-in/check-out process, verifying all information, and collecting proper payment method and identification. Efficiency is key as most guests are ready to unwind and relax in their room after a long day of travel.
  • Billing: Before checking out guests in the system, review all accounts and folios for accuracy. Once the review is completed, post the charges and payments. Ensure to include all mini bar, valet, and room service charges.
  • Reservations: Be knowledgeable of the various events occurring during the requested reservation time in order to personally connect with the guest. Communicate to the guest of any required deposits before completing the reservation process, and ensure the guest understands our deposit and cancellation policies.
  • Reporting: The Night Auditor is responsible for completing nightly audit reports. Additionally, the Night Auditor is responsible for reporting any issues to their direct supervisor.
  • Communication: It is imperative that the Night Auditor exudes impeccable communication skills; both when interacting with guests and with reporting feedback to Management.
  • Everyone’s Role in Housekeeping: Each of our team members is responsible for playing a role in Housekeeping. This includes picking up any debris or items that do not belong in event spaces while performing property walks, or walking from one department to the other. The Night Auditor is responsible for maintaining and clean, organized, and fully stocked work space. This includes communicating to management when any par levels for office supplies, luggage tags, keycards, etc are low.
  • Positive culture: Create a productive and positive atmosphere; treat each colleague as you would our guests, as we would not be successful without them! Maintain a positive yet professional relationship with all associates and other departments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience requirements:

  • At least one year of night auditor experience (preferred) or at least one year as a Front Desk Agent
  • Experience with Opera (preferred)
  • High school diploma
  • CPR Certification is a plus
  • Proficient in communication, both written and oral
  • Computer knowledge required

Shift and availability requirements:

  • Must be available to work any night audit shift, including weekdays and weekends
  • Ability to work the first and second shifts is a plus
