The Tandym Group is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Brooklyn, NY

A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Payroll Specialist to join their Finance team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing all staff on payroll on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities:
The Payroll Specialist will:
  • Process agency invoicing and contract staff reporting; verifying internal clock in times align with external payment
  • Process union payroll report on a monthly basis
  • Accurately process new employees, set up pay rate, pay rate changes and changes to employee statuses in timely manner
  • Process the stopping and reissuing of the checks
  • Process billing related to payroll; run and maintain weekly payroll reports to verify data
  • Assist with pay outs of perm employee benefits, vacation/PTO, FMLA, etc.
  • Assist the Director of HR with audits and consolidation of vendor invoicing
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Handle other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 1 year of Payroll experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
  • Proficient knowledge in all aspects of laws, rules, and guidelines with regard to Payroll principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Billing software and general computer applications
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Payroll experience in the Healthcare and/or Skilled Nursing setting
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with iSolved, UKG, Kronos, and/or Ultimate
  • Experience or knowledge of Healthcare PBJ (Payroll-based Journal)
