The Squires Group, Inc is Hiring a Software Engineer Near Arlington, VA
Overview
The Squires group has a contract opportunity for a Software Engineer to work a Hybrid schedule with our Washington, DC client. In this role, you will work with other talented engineers with modern tools and technologies, designing, developing and implementing complicated and difficult software capabilities for computer-based systems. Some work is on customer site in Washington, DC. up to three days per work (subject to change).
Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be eligible for a Secret clearance; an Active Secret is a huge plus.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava)
- Bachelors in related field (may substitute 9 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)
- Experience in the following:
- Designing enterprise APIs
- RESTful web services
- Microservices architecture
- Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms
- Agile software lifecycle
- Linux operating system
- Configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven)
- Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be eligible for a Secret clearance; an Active Secret is a huge plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Experience in distributed databases, NoSQL databases, full text-search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr)
- Scripting experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform
- Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, etc.)
