Position Description:

The Sharing Center (TSC) seeks a Director of Philanthropy, a critical member of TSC's leadership team, serving as a leader in cultivating and stewarding mid to major gifts from individuals, corporations, faith partners, and government donors. This role is in charge of developing and overseeing the strategic initiatives to achieve high-value giving to support TSC's mission and programs and helping to meet and exceed a portion of the organization's annual fundraising goals.

With input from TSC's President & CEO, Board of Directors, and Development Committee, the Director of Philanthropy will focus on attaining long-term growth objectives to support our strategic plan's ambitious program goals. This role will succeed most by utilizing an in-depth understanding of relevant issues, trends, policies, and opportunities regarding food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty in Central Florida. The Director of Philanthropy will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will lead a team comprised of two Development Officers, the Events Coordinator, a Marketing Program Manager, and the Stewardship Coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

Mid to Major Donor Portfolio Management

The Director of Philanthropy will manage a portfolio of 400 mid to major individual, corporate, and faith-based donors leveraging move management tactics. Successfully engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward the assigned portfolio of major donors and prospects. Develop and implement a detailed mid to major donor cultivation plan. Proactively identify, qualify, and prioritize individual, corporate, and foundation prospects through research screening and discovery meetings. Facilitate the development of a planned giving program.

Donor Cultivation Events & Communications

Lead initiatives to introduce TSC's mission to new, existing, and lapsed donors, including, but not limited to, hosting a cultivation event three times per year, inviting guests and hosting the monthly Helping Hands Welcome Tour, and working with team members to host bi-annual meetings with faith partners. Provide expertise and management of the development budget. Provide input into content communications and program staff. These communications will include major and mid-level donor/funder stewardship/impact reports, other donor engagement materials, planned giving materials, and TSC's Annual Impact Report.

Leadership & Management

Serve as a liaison between the Development Department and TSC's leadership, continually ensuring a culture of philanthropy within the organization. Provide strategic fundraising goals in participation with the organization's overall strategic plan. Work closely with the Board of Directors and lead the Development Committee. Generate and oversee the management of the department's budget and forecasting goals, providing detailed reports of revenue achieved and forecasting monthly. Maintain the organization's gift acceptance policies. Serve as a community leader communicating TSC's mission.

Time Requirements:

The time requirements are a Full-Time, exempt, salaried position. The schedule includes some evenings and Saturday events. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Qualifications:

· 5-7 years of progressively relevant experience in direct solicitations of mid to major gifts of $1,000 to $1 million; experience with planned giving a plus

· Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., communications, business, or a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience from a four-year college or university

· Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives to drive long-term giving among high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic corporations, and grand funders.

· Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate information to various internal and external audiences.

· The strategic mindset to enhance the mission and objectives of the organization

· Experience and ability to manage and actively utilize a customer relationship management database to source and communicate with donors effectively.

· Successful project leadership skills in designing, developing, managing, and implementing multiple projects and budgets at the strategic level to achieve stated goals

· Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail

· Excellent presentation skills, both in-person and virtual

· Experience in leading and supervising direct or indirect staff, virtual teams, and vendor relationships

· High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising, including adherence to the Association of Fundraising Professional's Donor Bill of Rights and Code of Ethical Standards

· CFRE credential, preferred

· Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM a must; and Salesforce, a plus

Salary Range: 80,000-90,000

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.

Work Environment:

The Sharing Center is on a large campus with multiple retail programs and operations. Walking between departments is required. Some standing is needed, but most of the time, it will be in an office environment.
