Location: Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA
About this opportunity:This position is a 90-day temporary assignment and will perform various clerical, computer, and manual work for the Supplies and Purchasing Department including receiving items; receives and delivers items shipped to all THQ departments; verifies items received against purchase orders and processes computer and paperwork in compliance with established department guidelines; delivers items to customers on the building; maintains all stockrooms, verifies the count and quality of received inventory from vendors.
Key responsibilities:- Uses UPS, USPS, and FedEx software and equipment to weigh and calculate shipping charges; assigns tracking numbers; prints manifest for shipments daily; updates account numbers and shipping addresses for Salvation Army Corps.
- Delivers all received items to the appropriate destination; writes up return receipts and prepares safety stock cards on all items going to the Supplies and Purchasing section; delivers merchandise to and from the warehouse as necessary.
- Counts, records, prices, and stocks all stocked items upon receipt in accordance with departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures; ensures the inventory count is up to date at all times; forwards the receiving papers to the office for inputting the stock information.
What we are looking for in you:- High School diploma or G.E.D. required, AND
- One year experience working in a general office, retail store, warehouse, or store inventory. OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to count merchandise and perform mathematical calculations, i.e., customer discounts, multiple orders and sales, etc
- Ability to operate a cash register, compute discounts, and count change.
- Ability to sort items in numerical and alphabetical order.
- Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, and copier.
Working Conditions
Work is normally performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
