Position Summary: Providing safety and support to the residents as well as assisting the Shelter Director and coordinating the Shelter Support Specialists

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist new residents with completed packet and hygiene bag
• Brief shelter team on new client(s)
• Maintain client folders to include conversations, warnings, progress towards goals, and documentation of any incidents.
• Report critical incidents immediately to the Shelter Director
• Works in collaboration with program and staff to facilitate a team environment.
• Serves on committees as requested.
• Role models effective communication skills in building relationships with all employees and clients
• Substitutes for other staff when need arises which may include after hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Treat all clients, visitors, and employees with caring, kindness and respect.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, code of conduct and attendance rules.
• Assist with Christmas party for residents, and seasonal programming.
• Attend all scheduled trainings and assigned staff and resident meetings.
• Assist Shelter Director with billing reports and employee scheduling.
• Maintain client chore scheduling
• Do shelter laundry as needed.
• Cook, prepare and serve meals as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• 1-2 years Shelter Support experience

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Maintain strict confidentiality

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
• Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses:

• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
• Current ServSafe Certification or ability to gain certification within a year.
