POSITION SUMMARY: Join us as we prepare for another great summer season at The Salt Shed! The Concessions Food Prep Crew is responsible for preparing all items for our full concessions menu.

Approximate dates of this position are between May 1 - October 31st, 2024.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the Chef and Culinary Director as well as the Prep Supervisor, prepare concessions food according to prescribed recipes. 
• Food preparation is for a high volume concessions operation, with a number of different stand style concepts.
• Set up and prepare all food items; opening and closing duties; replenishment and rotation of stock as directed by the Culinary Director.
• Production of menu items in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards
• Work schedule is flexible per kitchen schedule, with evening prep hours anticipated.
• Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently; maintenance of work area and proper food storage
• Maintain clean workspace and equipment. Ensure kitchen team is in compliance with all necessary health department guidelines. 
• Other duties/responsibilities may be assigned as the role and food operation evolves

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• This is an hourly, seasonal position working May 1-October 31, 2024. Hours are based on events schedule.
• Must possess or acquire ServSafe Food Handlers Certification
• Previous food preparation experience
• Ability to work late hours
• Flexible schedule
• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
• Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork
• Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
• Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
• Flexible schedule - Must be available late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Previous kitchen experience

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

• Must have the ability/stamina to work long hours when required
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
• Will frequently be seated at a computer and key in data
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
