Job Summary:
The Operations General Manager (OGM) will be a key leadership position, reporting to the VP of Ops, and will maintain control of diverse business operations including cultivation, processing, and manufacturing. The OGM is responsible for implementing important policy and strategic decisions, as well as developing and implementing operational policies and procedures and key personnel. The OGM must have strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, emotional intelligence, and exemplary work ethic, as well as exceptional problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of day-to-day operations and workflow. When necessary, the OGM will also assist the Human Resources department with recruiting for their departments and always help promote a company culture that encourages morale and top performance.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for overseeing operations to develop & deliver high-quality products and ensure the business operations are lean, efficient, effective, and systematic. Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the company’s operating condition.
-Execute the Company’s cultivation, processing, and manufacturing value propositions by effectively managing and guiding the leaders of those departments. This includes oversight of inventory and product distribution.
-Establishes an efficient and effective approach to product production (current and new) while incorporating the best combination of cost-effectiveness, innovation, and a lean labor pool.
-Accountable for the operational budgets and measurement and effectiveness of all operational processes - internal and external.
-Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with strategic objectives of the company. Able to prioritize and meet deadlines, and to manage multiple production issues with sense of urgency.
-Leads the development, communication, & implementation of effective operational strategies & processes by setting comprehensive and clear performance goals that support the company’s strategic plans.
-Oversees supply chain and demand planning. Reviews inventory for both manufactured and third-party products and sets expectations for planning and utilization.
-Reviews systems and processes for automation and/or improvements. Makes recommendations on automated process improvements and capital expenditures to increase sales, efficiency, and production.
-Executes processes and key performance indicators to measure effectiveness and drive cost efficiencies.
-Designs and implements business strategies, plans, and procedures that promote collaboration and a positive organizational culture and vision. Provides strategic input to evaluate potential alliances, acquisitions and mergers, and new lines of service.
-Strategize with the HR Department to attract, retain, and develop best-in-class subject matter expertise within the cultivation, processing, and manufacturing departments.
-Builds other leaders and drives the cultural change necessary to differentiate the business from its competition.
Requirements:
-5 years of management experience (large teams)
-3 years of manufacturing experience
-Knowledge of packaging and processing technology
-Cannabis experience (preferred)
-College degree (preferred)
-Familiar with planning and executing KPIs
-Ability to effectively analyze and interpret data
-Hands on, high energy, flexible and responsive to a dynamic work environment
-Subject to background check per state cannabis requirements
-Alaska Marijuana Handlers Permit & Municipality Food Safety Permit
