Job Summary:
The Groundskeeper is responsible for properly maintaining the grounds and facilities of the District in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Using best practices and proper maintenance techniques ensure that the exterior and interior environment at all buildings is safe, clean, and aesthetically attractive.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs grounds maintenance and gardening work at all district buildings.
Responsible for and performs in-house repairs and preventative maintenance work on all grounds equipment, including but not limited to such equipment as lawnmowers, tractors, weed trimmers, blowers, and all other hand tools and grounds-related equipment.
Performs all assigned work in a safe manner. This includes using all safety equipment when required and maintaining all tools in a safe operating condition.
Polices District grounds and picks up trash as required.
Prepares schedules for and performs all vegetation functions, including but not limited to watering, spraying, fertilizing and pruning at appropriate times.
Inspects surface of all playgrounds and assures a safe proper depth of mulch is maintained.
Haul stones and gravel from quarries to job sites
Cuts grass, Performs tree and shrub maintenance including planting, transplanting, trimming, removal and disease management.
Operates and performs maintenance/repairs annually and as needed on a wide variety of landscape equipment, including chippers, edgers, pressure washers, chainsaws, pole saws, hedgers, string trimmers and blowers. Maintenance includes sharpening blades, restringing pole cords, rebuilding carburetors, filters, greasing, plugs and creating parts list for purchasing. Files a record of maintenance and repairs
Installs district exterior signs.
Assist with special moving projects that requires heavy lifting, carrying, pulling of district school furniture. Work with campus principals to setup for school events that require furniture placement or removal.
Must be willing to travel and relocate to different campus locations; periodically.
Perform other duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare situations driven by the TRS Crew; if required.
Education (Preferred):
High School Diploma or equivalent (ex. G.E.D.)
