The Recruiting Team is Hiring an Outside Sales Near Brooklyn, NY

Position Summary:The primary function of the Outside Sales position is to be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. This person will develop and implement the agreed upon Company Marketing Plan. The individual will work toward the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with branch vision and values, and his/her own personal business goals. Training will be given to the new employee in the following areas: Product knowledge of building materials including: drywall, insulation, metal studs for drywall, ceiling systems, construction tools, construction safety items, drywall compound, and accessories for the drywall industry. Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for all steps of sales process, including: preparing action plans by accounts and product line, effective search and follow-through of sales leads and new customersIdentify and execute on opportunities for up-sell and cross-sellEstablish rapport with customers, building long-term, repeat customer relationshipsBe proficient in product knowledge to assist the customer in buying decisionsProvide timely and accurate competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approvalMaintain accurate records of sales activity, sales, and pricingGather competitive market and pricing information Basic Qualifications:Strong Microsoft office skillsAbility to self-manage is critical, as well extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management.Knowledge of building materials and construction industry strongly preferredBachelor’s degree is preferredKnowledge of and experience with Excel preferred3-5 years sales experience preferred Core Competencies:Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity.Embody the principles of servant leadership, even in a non-people management role, by putting the needs of others first, valuing diverse perspectives by sincerely appreciating and considering others’ opinions and ideas and demonstrating a positive and humble attitude.Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute and/or delegate as needed, while also collaborating with others to get the job done.Establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization; invest in building relationships with the Field Operations and Field Support Center team members.Help champion an inclusive working environment; empower others to bring their full selves to the workplace; celebrate, welcome, and value the different backgrounds and experiences that make up our workforce; recognize that all team members are valued, regardless of race, background, tenure, or title.Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers. Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 70% of the time.Will occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.Must be able to operate basic office machinery.Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Required Cognitive Skills:Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks.Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.Must be able to multitask.Must be able to receive and analyze sales and financial information.Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement and initiative. Benefits & Perks:Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability & Life InsuranceWellness Benefits401(k) Retirement PlanEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramPaid Holidays & Vacation DaysProfessional Growth OpportunitiesDevelopment & Training Programs This job description is subject to change at any time. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Launch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.
