The Principia is Hiring a Remote Graphic Designer

Title: Graphic Designer

Department/Location: Central Marketing, St. Louis, MO / Remote

Position Type: Full-time, 12-month

Summary:

Principia is looking for a Graphic Designer. In this role, you will provide visual design support for Principia’s Central Marketing department that is professional, engaging, and adheres to Principia's visual brand. You will handle a variety of design projects, including print, web, promotional, presentation, and signage. You’ll work closely with the Senior Art Director, Senior Creative Director, and other team members to develop design solutions that address institutional needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produce professional, strategic, and high-quality design work for marketing and communications materials across all mediums with oversight from the Senior Art Director
  • Manage multiple design projects at a time, from ideation through delivery, while meeting project deadlines
  • Receive and act on creative direction and design feedback in a professional, solution-oriented manner
  • Work adeptly in a team environment and be able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues and audiences
  • Support and adhere to institutional design strategy, principles, and brand identity standards
  • Contribute to brainstorming meetings and initial project development

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Student of Christian Science, or values-aligned
  • Supportive of Principia’s mission, vision, and values as articulated here
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent professional experience
  • 3 years of professional design experience, including knowledge of design for both print and digital
  • Strong design portfolio (portfolio required)
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Demonstrated ability to execute polished and mobile-first designs for digital; website, email, social media
  • Proficient knowledge of print and prepress file setup and packaging, ability to work with print vendors
