The Pride Group is hiring for a Day HAB Assistant in Sioux City. This is a full time position that works directly with our members in a community setting. This individual will be responsible for conducting programs, outings, and classes that help our members work towards their goals. This position works 8:00 to 4:00 Monday thru Friday with an occasional weekend.

$2000 Hiring Bonus

This position will work Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with an occasional weekend. Day Hab works to assist and educate members in essential daily living skills as they work toward independence in the community setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To assist members with direct care and training in areas of his/her life to include: daily living skills (cooking, hygiene, medication) social skills, money management, and community integration.
• Assist members with physical and mental education, all while being in accordance with each members goals and abilities.
• Facilitate various educational classes
• Assist members with personal needs and hobbies as they are part of the Day Hab program. (I.e. Computer skills, photo albums etc.)
• Facilitate weekly shopping trips with members
• Works all shifts as scheduled, arriving ready to begin and on time
• Performs all other duties as assigned by day hab coordinator.

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Excellent Communication Skills
• A desire to work with persons with disabilities is essential in this position
• Current CPR certification and Mandatory Adult Abuse or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current physical and TB test
• Current Chauffeur’s License or obtain within 30 days of hire
• Time management skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to plan and carryout projects independently.
• Effectively interface with all levels of employees, our members, the public and Pride Group management.
