About the Position
The Education Coordinator supports the Director of Academic Development by leading staff training and driving program enhancements that consistently exceed expectations. This role also promotes the success of Academic Development by supporting and guiding team members, children, and their families through resources, mentorship, and coaching.
Responsibilities
Complete a minimum of 30 hours of annual training in the following format:
  • Ten hours in child development
  • Ten hours in adult learning theory, coaching, and mentorship
  • Ten hours licensing requirements for educators
Participate in the Together We Grow coaching program as follows:
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and participate in meaningful discussions.
  • Complete and turn in homework assignments.
  • Implement strategies within the classrooms and prepare feedback to share
  • Attend mastermind classes, as scheduled, taking notes
Collaborate with the School Director through weekly meetings to ensure the center and staff conform to federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements. In addition, Education Coordinators will also collaborate with School Directors to achieve accreditation through Texas Rising Star and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Spend 80% of time in the classrooms, mentoring and modeling for teachers. Assisting with challenging behaviors and offering positive guidance for team members on managing classroom environments. This includes covering restroom breaks as needed throughout the day.
Train, motivate, and lead team members daily and assist center management with onboarding new team members in the following areas:
  • Curriculum and lesson planning
  • Daily routines, schedules, and classroom structure
  • Classroom management
  • Behavior management
  • Child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • ProCare and parent communication
  • The Pillars culture, excellence expectations (secret sauce), and branding guidelines
  • Accreditation and licensing standards and NAEYC Code of Ethics
Supervise the floor and help during drop-off and pick-up hours to maintain ratios and for the well-being of team members and children. Any projects are to be done between 9:30 am - 3:30 pm, and when not coaching team members.
Ensure proper room arrangement to maximize child-led activities, learning environment, and accreditation standards.
Complete monthly classroom observations and report findings to the center director.
Perform ProCare audits and conduct ProCare staff training to ensure proper communication with families.
Conduct end-of-quarter learning environment audits and provide copies to the Director of Academic Development and the School Director.
Purchase and maintain learning environments, classroom supplies, indoor/outdoor equipment, and resource room supplies.
Facilitate assigned tasks and projects as provided by the Director of Academic Development.
Relate to children and staff with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience.
Required Education and Experience
  • Meet DFPS minimum education and experience caregiver requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Two years of experience in childcare administration
  • Five years of experience in curriculum implementation
  • Sales and/or marketing experience
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
