JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of clinic. May be assigned to specific medical specialty (e.g., spine, sports medicine, pain management, etc.) to help with patient care related to that specialty.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year work experience in a clinical healthcare setting. Orthopaedic experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical specialty
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence
Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA guidelines

ABILITIES:
Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks
Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
