Front Office ManagerThe job description of an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Front Office Manager typically includes a wide range of responsibilities related to the efficient and smooth operation of the front office in an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. This role requires a combination of administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills. Here is a sample job description:Position: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Front Office ManagerResponsibilities:Patient Reception and Scheduling:Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and consultations, ensuring optimal utilization of doctors' time.Manage the appointment calendar, coordinating with the surgical team, and resolving scheduling conflicts.Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for treatments.Administrative Management:Oversee the daily operations of the front office, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established protocols.Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and resolve concerns or complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.Manage and maintain inventory of office supplies, equipment, and patient educational materials.Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate coding and billing practices.Financial Duties:Collect patient payments, verify insurance coverage, and prepare financial estimates for treatments.Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding payments.Coordinate with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing and reimbursement issues.Team Management and Training:Recruit, train, and supervise front office staff, ensuring high-quality customer service and professionalism.Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and healthcare industry standards.Implement and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy.Monitor and evaluate the quality of front office operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.Requirements:Previous experience in a managerial role, preferably in a dental or healthcare setting.Strong knowledge of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures and terminology.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.Proficiency in dental practice management software and computer applications.Understanding of insurance billing and reimbursement processes.Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to healthcare operations and patient privacy
