Position Overview
Open Window School is a K-8 independent school on Cougar Mountain, centrally located between Bellevue, Issaquah, and Newcastle. For 5 weeks during the summer, Open Window runs an exciting summer program for students entering Kindergarten through 7th grade within the local community.
Our Summer Counselors will support the program by facilitating pre-designed, hands-on theme camps, or assisting faculty with specialty camps. Counselors will lead activity cohorts of 10-12 students in our theme weeks under the direction of our Theme Director and Lead Teachers, supervise lunch and recess, and collaborate with the Theme Director to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere for campers. Counselors will also assist with our Before and After Care program. Both within a team environment and under minimal supervision, our counselors create a safe and engaging space for campers in the program. Counselors will use their unique expertise and experiences to connect with campers through positive social interaction, age-appropriate projects, crafts, and play.

Compensation: $25 per hour
Position Classification: Seasonal; June 24-August 2
Hours: 7:30-4:00; 8:30-5:00; or 9:30-6:00 – exact schedule will be determined between employee and manager
Training: Hired counselors are required to attend the in-person training session at Open Window School - June 24-28.
