The New York City Department of Education is Hiring a COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE - PATHWAYS TO GRADUATION, CSE CLERICAL SUPPORT [P Near New York, NY

Job Details

Position Summary: This position will support the borough-based CSE with operations and clerical support.

Reports To: P2G Special Education Assistant Principal

Direct Reports: N/A

Key Relationships: P2G CSE Team

Responsibilities

  • Schedules IEP meetings and sends all notices to parents/guardians.
  • Creates and send the student invitation letter.
  • Contacts the student’s general education teachers to complete the teacher reports and compiles the reports for the school psychologist or special education teacher.
  • Sends waivers to amend IEP meetings home to parent and follows up to get written consent.
  • Faxes consent for waivers to SESIS.
  • Sends finalized IEPs and PWNs home to parents/guardians.
  • Uploads signed attendance page after completion of IEP meetings.
  • Makes contacts with Related Services (ACCESS related services team).
  • Ensures student is receiving all mandated related services.
  • Requests Full Scale Reviews (FSRs) when needed for students who have a parent/guardian with a preferred language other than English:
  • Completes the DOE Translation & Interpretation Office’s online form to request a translated copy of the IEP, if the family indicated they would like a translated copy of the IEP.
  • Arranges for interpreters for IEP meetings, as needed.
  • Access information and reports in Salesforce as needed.

Qualification Requirements:


Minimum

  • High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.


Preferred

  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Able to navigate technology platforms (SESIS, Salesforce, Microsoft 365)
  • Team oriented

WORK SCHEDULE
: Monday- Friday (As per collective bargaining agreement)
