The Medical Department on the Manhattan campus of The New Jewish Home is seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

REPORTS TO: Medical Director

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Admission consultation or consultation during patient’s stay at the request of the facility
2. Follow up respiratory consultation if clinically indicated
3.  Meets patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care by determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians
4. Works to restore patient’s pulmonary function
5. Assisting with breathing exercises
6. Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
7. Documents patient care services by charting in patient records
8. Care coordination with other healthcare professionals
9. Staff education with competency at the request of the facility
