Front Office Job Description:
Receive / Check-in patients for each appointment
enter information into EMR
compile chart
ensure patient documents are appropriately signed
Receive incoming phone calls
Schedule new and return patient appointments
transfer calls to respective fellow employees
relay messages to fellow employees and/or providers
Send paperwork to new patients in advance of clinic appointment
Check to assure patient has active eligibility with the insurance company
Obtain co-pays
Offer portal access to incoming patients
Check, print, and/or assign incoming faxes
Fax completed charts to designated providers / work comp / other offices, complete the fax by the end of the following business day
Obtain records from referring entities
Scan incoming documents or assign into EMR folders
Schedule MRIs / CTs / x-rays, obtain insurance authorization
Schedule injections and operations, obtain insurance authorization
Complete reminder calls for upcoming appointments, films
Compile charts for out-reach clinics
Assist with obtaining mail, addressing returned mail
Populate clinic days and operative days per provider preferences
Keep workspace and common areas clean
