WHO WE ARE

The mission of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is to conserve the lands and waters upon which all life depends. As a science-based organization, we develop innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the world’s toughest environmental challenges so that people and nature can thrive. Our work is guided by our values, which include a commitment to diversity and respect for people, communities, and cultures. Recognizing that people bring talent and skills that have been developed outside the scope of a job, we take a holistic approach to recruitment that considers life experience in addition to the professional requirements listed in our postings. Please apply – we’d love to hear from you. To quote a popular saying at TNC, “you’ll join for the mission, and you’ll stay for the people.”

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

In January 2024, the New Hampshire Business Unit (BU) adopted a Strategic Alignment Plan that outlines six priority initiatives for delivering on our global 2030 Goals. These are our Climate Action, Cities of the Merrimack Watershed, Coastal Watershed, Appalachian Lands and Waters, Land Management and Stewardship initiatives, and Be Our Best, our internal initiative designed to build and sustain TNC in NH as a great place to work and to grow as a conservation leader.

The Community Partnerships Manager (CPM) will play a critical role in the leadership of our Climate Action and Cities of the Merrimack Watershed initiatives toward two priority goals: (1) To work with and support community leaders and partners in Manchester and Nashua to enhance the benefits of nature for human well-being and to help with adapting to and mitigating climate change, and (2) To help to build a diverse, engaged constituency for climate action at the local and state levels in New Hampshire to influence policy outcomes. The CPM’s work focuses on building, leveraging, and sustaining strategic partnerships with community organizations, local governments, the business sector, and educational institutions to further The Nature Conservancy’s priorities and mission by employing best practices for community engagement.

The CPM builds support for our work by engaging a diverse set of stakeholders and decision-makers in Manchester, Nashua and in targeted regions across the state on projects and programs that further conservation outcomes and connect people to the power of nature in New Hampshire.

The Community Partnerships Manager reports to the Associate Director for Policy and Government Relations and is a member of the Conservation Team. They will also work closely with the BU’s marketing, communications, and development teams to meet organization objectives. They will develop, maintain, and sustain strategic relationships with community groups and partners, and engage with them to help advance The Nature Conservancy’s conservation and organizational goals. They will help build trust by meaningfully engaging DEIJ Communities in our work. The CPM will improve the two-way flow of information and increase The Nature Conservancy’s knowledge and responsiveness to community questions and concerns by incorporating diverse perspectives into the BU’s Climate Action and Cities of the Merrimack Watershed initiatives. They will be responsible for managing and supporting a variety of events focused on building and advancing strategic partnerships and raising the visibility of our work. They will represent The Nature Conservancy at various external events and meetings.
