PURPOSE

The Community Engagement Manager, under supervision of the Director of Education, runs the Mobile Opportunity Center (MOC). The MOC is a shuttle bus that was developed to remove barriers in access to information and services for the Northwest Dayton Community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners, faith based organizations, educational institutions, medical institutions, and community members in the Dayton Community.
  • Drive the Mobile Opportunity Center to designated locations throughout Dayton.
  • Set up and break down our resource center and distribute information to community members.
  • Initiate conversations with community members.
  • Maintains accurate program reports/records and provides required reporting to their supervisor.
  • Schedules providers and classes to present at the Mobile Opportunity Center
  • Be present at community meetings
  • Assists the Director of Education in compiling information for measuring short-term and long-term program goals.
  • Promotes NCCJ of Greater Dayton and expands engagement opportunities with prospective and current partners.
  • Leads and participates in community activities as related to the assigned projects.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned that support the operations of NCCJ.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and/or Experience

Minimum of High School Diploma. Associates Degree in social/behavioral science or related field with two years of experience preferred. Driver’s license and ability to drive a small bus required (a regular license is sufficient, a CDL is not required).

Certification, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and access to a vehicle for off-site programming and events are required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Nature of work requires the ability to operate standard business office equipment.
  • Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
  • Should be capable of moving up to 25 lbs. Moving and setting up large items from the Mobile Opportunity Center.
  • Travel by automobile will be required frequently.
  • The ability to drive a 12 person shuttle bus with a trailer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed in a general office environment [as well as in the field]. May require availability for additional hours during peak periods. Requires periodic participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings. Able to work evenings/weekends and maintain reliable transportation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The final applicant selected for this position, prior to appointment, will be required to complete and pass a background check paid for by NCCJ.

Salary Range:

$18 - $20 per hour - Estimated 16 hours per week (two full working days)

Work Hours:

Two full days per week. One day per week will be spent out in the Mobile Opportunity Center, one day will be spent preparing materials for going out, meeting partners, and being present in the community.

Employee may work with their supervisor to adjust schedules as needed to meet the needs of the community and our partners. One day must be done M-F between the hours of 8:30 and 5. The day on the MOC is flexible (including weekends) dependent on the individual's schedule.
