Associate Attorney - Labor and Employment Law Firm Hybrid (Remote and In-person) What we do: We work closely with clients to listen and learn their stories. We serve as a legal ally to prevent discrimination and unfair employment practices in the areas of employment law, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage claims and personal injury. Our clients know how important their case is to our firm and they are confident that we put the best possible foot forward on their behalf. Your Responsibilities: ● Maintain litigation and transactional caseloads ● Consult with clients; provide consistent legal guidance and support with empathy ● Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients to ensure retention and referrals ● Research cases by interviewing witnesses, reading depositions, reviewing evidence and speaking with the client to determine the best litigation strategy ● Prepare legal writing to build a clear analysis of the issue (motions, responses, demand letters) ● Litigate cases from inception through trial, when a trial is necessary (deposition and trial experience necessary) ● Support with business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective clients and evaluating clients' needs ● Apply knowledge of employment law, functions, strategies, and processes to provide services, solutions, advice, and improvement to clients served ● Other litigation/case activities as necessary. Your Qualifications: ● Minimum 2 years of experience in employment law ● Employment & labor law: 2 years (Required); Experience in litigation ● Ensures high quality of work by taking full responsibility for all work-product assigned and or delegated, as well as all internal, external, and court deadlines ● Demonstrated ability to intuitively and creatively solve complex problems ● Ability to deliver exceptional hands-on client service with empathy and compassion ● Honest and straight-forward communication ● Confident, driven, able to work both independently and with a team when necessary ● Resourceful and solution-oriented ● Clear and persuasive oral and written communication skills ● Negotiation skills ● Juris Doctor (JD) degree required; license to practice law in Texas state and federal court Job Type: Full-time Salary: $72,468.00 - $105,000.00 per year Benefits: Flexible schedule Paid time off Medical (potential) Bonus pay License/Certification: * Texas Bar license (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX 77042 Company Description How we work: We care about our clients and our staff.
