The Mom Project is Hiring a Technical Artist Near Burlingame, CA

***The salary range for this position is $76.39 - $82.60 per hour.***

We are seeking a Technical Artist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is responsible for the technical aspects of graphics asset development, rendering, and 2D/3D animations. This entails working closely with computer graphics and software engineering to run and support the asset pipeline, animation tools, and simulation pipelines including artist- and data-driven solutions. In this role, you will be working closely with a team of machine learning and computer graphics engineers to generate synthetic data involving digital humans using simulation pipelines. Synthetic images are generated with computer graphics or data-driven platforms and used to inform hardware decisions and/or train machine learning models as a replacement for real data.
What You'll Do:
Partner closely with Hardware (HW), Machine Learning (ML), Research, and Product teams to define requirements and develop content
Maintain and improve a digital human asset used for synthetic data generation
Optimize content by enhancing performance
Run, provide feedback, file bugs, and help troubleshoot scalable solutions for asset creation, modeling, and texturing
Manage, own, and maintain the simulation pipeline jobs including contributing to tools and plug-ins for animation, simulations, and analyzing data to improve synthetic identities
Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks
Work with internal data collection teams to help assist with virtual production
Adopt a “move fast” mentality and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Must-Haves:
5-7 years of relevant work experience
Modern computer graphic skills (Unreal Engine, Maya, Blender, or other 3D modeling and animation software)
Experience with character modeling, animation, and synthetic data/image generation
Experience with image and video content delivery pipelines
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving ability
Strong documentation skills
Ability to communicate across teams including engineers and researchers
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Ability to plan and strategize
Machine learning-based modeling and the ability to generate images using machine learning are a plus
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Graphics or Computer Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent work experience is required
Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be onsite at our Customer's Burlingame, CA location.
