Job Summary: Knik is looking for a Traffic Control FlaggerDavis Bacon Wages – Per Contract Responsibilities: Worker controls the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects:Discusses traffic plans and the type and location of control devices per supervisor.Distributes traffic control signs and markers along the site in designated traffic movement patterns through the site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.Warns construction/utility workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals, accidents, and injury to workers.Informs drivers of detour routes through work sites.Records license number of traffic control violators for police/law enforcement.May give a hand the marker to last the driver in line up of one-way traffic.Requirements: Highway (Road) Flaggers must be certified by ATSSATraffic Control Supervisor must be certified by ATSSAFlagging Level I must be certified by IMSAWork Zone Specialist must be certified by IMSAStrong verbal communication skills, ability to read and, write, and good eye-hand coordinationAbility to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected eventsEmployee needs to be able to work without supervisionAs this job may require long periods of standing being subjected to adverse weather conditions, the flagger must be in good physical conditionGood eyesight (correction vision if needed) and hearingPre-hire drug test Links:ATSSA: American Traffic Safety Services Association Home - IMSA - International Municipal Signal Association (imsasafety.org)
