Job Summary: Knik is looking for a Traffic Control Flagger Davis Bacon Wages – Per Contract Responsibilities:
Worker controls the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects:
Discusses traffic plans and the type and location of control devices per supervisor.
Distributes traffic control signs and markers along the site in designated traffic movement patterns through the site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
Warns construction/utility workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals, accidents, and injury to workers.
Informs drivers of detour routes through work sites.
Records license number of traffic control violators for police/law enforcement.
May give a hand the marker to last the driver in line up of one-way traffic.
Requirements:
Highway (Road) Flaggers must be certified by ATSSA
Traffic Control Supervisor must be certified by ATSSA
Flagging Level I must be certified by IMSA
Work Zone Specialist must be certified by IMSA
Strong verbal communication skills, ability to read and, write, and good eye-hand coordination
Ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events
Employee needs to be able to work without supervision
As this job may require long periods of standing being subjected to adverse weather conditions, the flagger must be in good physical condition
Good eyesight (correction vision if needed) and hearing
Pre-hire drug test
