Reports to: Middle School Division Head
Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops curriculum materials, including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional materials
• Carries out all responsibilities associated with teaching the assigned classes
• Conducts after-school tutorials as scheduled
• Participates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as called
• Ensures that students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelines
• Is involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom
• Fulfills additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Candidates should have experience teaching middle school Spanish and should understand the unique needs of a student that age
• The drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the school community beyond the classroom
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
• Employment of a variety of techniques, including the meaningful use of technology and familiarity with comprehensible input, to engage students and further their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
• A strong desire to work in a collaborative learning community, employing a growth mindset
• Desire and ability to develop an atmosphere of trust and knowledge of students as individuals
• Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of learning styles and across a range of abilities
• Ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for diversity
• Regular and reliable attendance
