The Lovett School is Hiring a Middle School English Teacher 2024-2025 Near Atlanta, GA

Reports to: Middle School Division Head
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops curriculum materials including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional materials
  • Carries out all responsibilities associated with teaching the assigned classes
  • Conducts after-school tutorials as scheduled
  • Participates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as called
  • Ensures that students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelines
  • Is involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom
  • Serves as a grade-level advisor
  • Fulfills additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field with significant English coursework; a master's degree is preferred
  • At least three years of classroom experience leading, developing, and teaching curriculum
  • The drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the school community beyond the classroom
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
  • Employment of a variety of techniques, including the meaningful use of technology, to engage students and further their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative learning community, employing a growth mindset
  • Desire and ability to develop an atmosphere of trust and knowledge of students as individuals
  • Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of learning styles and across a range of abilities
  • Ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for diversity
  • Regular and reliable attendance
