The Lovett School is Hiring a Choral Director Near Atlanta, GA

Reports to: Director of Fine Arts

Primacy Responsibilities: t

  • Carries out all responsibilities associated with teaching the assigned class(es), to engage, inspire, and challenge students consistent with Lovett's mission and Vision for Learning.
  • Purposefully design curriculum, instruction, and assessment to reach a diverse community of learners (academically, culturally, racially, religiously, etc.).
  • Conducts tutorials (before-school and after-school help) as scheduled Participates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as called Is involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom.
  • Fulfills additional duties as assigned, including responsibilities that may occur on weekends and evenings (e.g. admission open house, observations, and interviews).

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
  • The drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the school community beyond the classroom.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Teaching Certificate is encouraged but not required Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience Thorough knowledge of broad choral literature.
  • Strong collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to coach details and finishing of choral music Comprehensive understanding of vocal production Excellent conducting skills.

  • Desire and ability to develop an atmosphere of trust and knowledge of students as individuals.
