The Learner's Nest Academy in Houston, TX is looking for one childcare cook / bus driver to join our 11 person strong team. We are located on 17214 Red Oak Drive. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

Part time - 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Cook/Bus Driver responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and serving meals/snacks.
• Menu Planning.
• Cleaning and organizing the kitchen.
• Keeping inventory and ordering of food and beverages.
• Food program.
• Ensuring all Health Department inspections are passed.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Following all allergy precautions.
• Driving our 15- passenger bus to and from local elementary schools.
• Assisting where needed.
• Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to their destinations.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers on board.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Possesses or ability to get a Food Manger Certification.

Skills:

• Food service experience, preferably in a dietary department or kitchen setting.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety guidelines.
• Experience in catering, restaurant or childcare settings is a plus.
• Ability to assist with dietary needs and provide excellent customer service to students.
