The Langham Boston is Hiring a Social and Corporate Meetings Manager Near Boston, MA

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: 

The Social and Corporate Meetings Manager (SCMM) will solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, referrals, direct prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed individual revenue goals. The SCMM will handle social room blocks and group/transient inquiries assigned by DOS. In addition, prepare and execute sales contracts, banquet event orders and group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfactions. The SCMM will serve and assist in coordinating all function details with clients to include but not limited to space requirements, meeting times, menus, billing, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES: 

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Handle inquiry calls according to departmental procedure.
  • Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge in reference to The Langham brand and philosophy.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge of the competition's product.
  • Meet solicitation and maintenance call requirements; make outside sales calls, handle incoming inquiries.
  • Anticipate and respond to customer needs within a timely manner, acknowledge all customers.
  • Attend departmental and hotel meetings as required. Responsible for managing groups through weekly BEO and resume meetings.
  • Process paperwork to clients, other departments, etc., within a timely manner. 
  • Conduct elevated site inspections throughout property.
  • Meet sales and catering booking goals to achieve budget and crossover.
  • Responsible for contracting and servicing details for groups, including BEO’s, processing of rooming lists, billing, amenities and resume details.
  • Develops and implements sales activities within market segment to achieve budgeted goal.
  • Presents proposals to achieve maximum profit while satisfying client needs.
  • Follows up on assigned sales leads in a timely manner.
  • Participate in business review meetings, special events, sales blitzes, and sales meetings.
  • Is familiar with operations and standard of the Hotel’s relevant computer systems for Delphi fdc, SEP, Ideas and Amadues Advanced.
  • Entertain clients in dining outlets as necessary.
  • Successfully complete the training process for this position.
  • Build and maintain positive relations with LHG Global Sales Offices.
  • Actively participate in the Langham Pipeline lead referral program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Langham Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Ability to perform job function with minimal supervision even under pressure.
  • Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guests and hotel data.
  • Ability to enforce hotel's quality procedures, etc.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to input and access information on a computer.
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding / difficult situations.
  • Desirable to have previous guest relations training.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE /LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES / REQUIRED: 

  • Prefer candidates have a minimum of a 4-year college degree or commensurate management experience in a luxury hotel
