The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Construction Quality Control Engineer to support with submittal reviews, daily reports and to fill in for vacation/sick time for the Quality Control Manager on commercial construction projects to maintain quality on the project. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Fill in for QCM as needed for DOD projects
• Maintain quality control by frequent and regular inspection of work and work-in-progress as related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems when filling in for QCM
• Read and interpret specifications, plans and resource documents to determine requirements and planning procedures as outlined in the RFP
• Establish and manage the submittal review/approval process
• Create, manage, process and log RFIs and submittals
• Track potential changes through the request for change (RFC) system
• Identify and document close-out procedures including a checklist
• Attend and participate in project meetings
• Complete all reports and records in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintain an orderly and clean presence on the jobsite
• Complete job close-out procedures
• Able to work in Quality Control System (QCS)/ USACE Resident Management System (RMS 3.0)
• This is a hybrid position, traveling will be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing
• Experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance

• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, multi-tasking, communication and conflict management skills
• Computer knowledge in sending emails, daily reports, construction look-ahead schedules, and iPad use

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

• Four year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science.
• 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer on a similar size and type of construction contract
• 2 years of experience as a QC Manager (Preferred)
• Current certificate of completion of Construction Quality Managers for Contractors course, a plus
• Design/Build experience is a plus
• Procore experience is a plus

• Outside weather conditions, such as extreme heat and extreme cold
• Moderate to loud noise levels
