JOB SUMMARY
This Housing Quality Control Specialist will report to the Director of Program Compliance and Training. The ideal candidate will have diverse experience related to compliance, affordable housing, or the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This position requires a deep understanding of the basic principles, methods, practices, and techniques involved in the HCV program. Additionally, thorough knowledge of HUD-assisted programs, including basic rules, regulations, and reporting standards, is essential. The ability to correspond clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, is critical for success in this role. This position will work and communicate with people from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds.

PRINCIPAL ROLE AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and policies related to affordable housing programs, with a focus on the HCV program.
  • Oversee contract administration and compliance monitoring processes to ensure adherence to program requirements and standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders on compliance issues and best practices.
  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for addressing inquiries tied to the HCV program, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Foster a culture of respect and professionalism in all interactions with program participants, property owners, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with other departments, agencies, and organizations involved in affordable housing initiatives to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Communicate updates and changes in regulations, policies, and procedures related to affordable housing programs and communicate implications to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Keep team members informed about changes and findings in program processes, allowing the management team to make well-informed decisions that promote stability for program participants.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency in delivering housing quality control services.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess program compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Offer recommendations and guidance to managers on how to address identified deficiencies and improve the overall housing quality.
  • Maintain organized records and promptly file information into participant files for efficient tracking of progress and ensure that participants’ details are readily accessible.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Varied experience related to compliance, affordable housing, or contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of basic principles, practices, and techniques involved in the HCV program.
  • Thorough knowledge of HUD-assisted programs, particularly the HCV program, including basic rules, regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will primarily work within the office environment but may also engage in occasional physical tasks such as bending, reaching, sitting, and walking during the workday. This role may require the ability to lift items weighing at least 20 pounds. Moreover, the individual will also spend extended periods each day working on a personal computer. Must be available to work flexible and longer hours during busy seasons. Reasonable accommodation may be available to enable persons with physical disabilities to perform the job.
