How you can make a bigger difference: The Mishkon Division of The Jewish Board provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients. The Senior Director of Nursing Services is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of the Nursing and Related Services Departments (Nutrition, OT, PT, SLP, Primary Care) of The Jewish Board’s IDD (Mishkon) division in accordance with current Federal, State and local regulations. The Senior Director of Nursing Services will provide the required supervision to ensure the quality performance of the Nursing Department’s daily operations, as well as coordinating and managing medical services to the individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities that reside at Mishkon’s residential facilities. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:The Senior Director of Nursing Services is responsible to coordinate, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the nursing services department in accordance with current rules and regulations as promulgated by OPWDD, JBFCS and other applicable regulators and payer’s.Develop and maintain methods for coordinating nursing services with other program services to ensure continuity of the resident’s total regimen of care.Determine and monitor the staffing needs of the nursing department to ensure the appropriate assignment and census of nursing staff.Work collaboratively with HR and the agency’s nursing leadership team to interview and select nursing staff. Oversee the interviewing process and selection of related services providers and independent contractorsDevelop, implement and conduct in-service training programs for the nursing department that promotes professional development and enhancement.Ensure that medical and nursing care is administered in accordance with the resident’s individualized program planDirectly supervise the Assist in planning for resident admissions and discharges.Ensure that all IDD nurses are supported, receive weekly documented supervision as well as annual written performance evaluations.Review annually, at a minimum, all nursing services policies and procedures.In coordination with the Executive Program Director, prepare, plan and adhere to the nursing services budget.Oversee inventory management of medications and medical supplies to ensure adequate stock to meet the residents care needs.Provide education and in-service training to program staff according program need and regulatory requirements.Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies, as necessary or as directed.Maintain a cooperative and productive relationship with program leadership to ensure follow up and resolution to all identified issues.Develop action plans for systems issues and quality indicators as identified by the Department of Quality Improvement as well as program regulators and payers.Collect, review and analyze clinical outcome data in EHR and Tableau Dashboards and determine trends.In collaboration with the QI department, provide reports of clinical outcome findings. Participate in the QI activities in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.Participate in and attend various Program committees as designated by the Executive Program Director.Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.Ensures that residents are treated with dignity and respect and resident rights are maintained.Maintain a liaison with the residents, their families and support departments to adequately plan for the resident’s needs.Other duties as assigned Qualifications: The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:Active, unrestricted New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
